Several years ago Ernie and Gail Hostetter built
an arena in one of their fields of their Lebanon County dairy farm. The first events held at the arena were team
pennings, later team sortings and ropings were added. Eventually a covered arena was built to better accommodate the events.
Soon requests were made for some bull & bronc riding practices. Bucking chutes were constructed, pens were designed
to hold the stock and a Monday evening tradition began. Wheather it's 90 degrees or 20 degrees you can
bet we'll be "buckin' them out." We've also added other practice nights to our busy arena
schedule such as calf & team roping, barrelrace & pole bending.
Shale Knoll Arena has many shows for all of the seperate rodeo events. The Pennsylvania High School Rodeo Association
and Central Pennsylvania Youth Rodeo Association also use our facility to hold many events through out the year. As
our vision grew there was a realization that rodeo often "has to go to the people" and several years ago the first
Redeye Rodeo Company "traveling" rodeo was contracted and produced at the Lebanon Area Fairgrounds. Since
that first rodeo at the Lebanon Area Fairgrounds other fairs from all corners of Pennsylvania booked Redeye Rodeo Company
and our vision keeps growing......
